A true Maryland native, Capt. Bart Jaeger, grew up in Crofton Maryland crabbing, fishing and playing lacrosse. He attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD to study biology. During the summer of his junior year, 1995, Bart interned with CBF as a general Education department intern. It was there that he learned he could make a career of being outside and educating people about the Chesapeake Bay.

After graduation Bart came back to CBF and started full time as a field educator at CBF’s most rustic education center, Fox Island. He moved on to work on a one-day boat program based in Virginia and eventually made his way back to Fox Island to take over as manager.

Bart became a US Coast Guard licensed captain and moved to Annapolis, to take the helm of one of CBF’s other education centers, the Arthur Sherwood Center. He honed his captain skills on several of CBF’s vessels including a fleet of all aluminum jet drive diesel workboats. He has worked with 1000’s of students and teachers during his time with CBF.

After 16 years of working in the CBF’s education department Bart moved to the Development Dept. to lead the Discovery program, which is the field component to CBF’s fundraising efforts. He works with all facets of CBF’s diverse funding sectors to craft customized field experiences.

Bart currently lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore along the shores of the Chester River and spends much of his personal time out on the water, in the marshes and exploring the Chesapeake Bay with his wife and daughter.

David P. Tucker serves as Director of Regional Major Giving at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF), where he has worked since 2016. His commitment to the Bay began in fourth grade, when a CBF field experience sparked a lifelong passion for environmental conservation.

In his current role, David leads a team of regional gift officers across the Chesapeake Bay watershed and partners with individual donors and foundations throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area to advance support for CBF’s mission to Save the Bay.

Before joining CBF, David was a development officer at American Rivers, where he cultivated and stewarded relationships with individual donors. Earlier in his career, he worked at Defenders of Wildlife (2006–2011), supporting initiatives related to renewable energy, wildlife trade, and global climate change. He began his career as an intern with the National Wildlife Federation, focusing on wetlands and Farm Bill policy.

David is a 2010 graduate of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders Program and a former sportswriter. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland. He lives in Olney, Maryland, with his wife, Kelly, their two daughters, and their black lab, Buddy.
